The girl in this picture is Blair Shanahan Lane, randomly killed by “celebratory” gunfire in Kansas City on July 4, 2011.
She was only 11.
Unfortunately, people are still “celebrating” holidays like this. ShotSpotter recorded more than 1,100 rounds of gunfire in Kansas City this past New Year’s Eve.
